TCEQ-Licensed Backflow Testers

In Texas, only a licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) can legally test or repair your backflow assembly. AAIS is certified and licensed by the TCEQ — BPAT# BP0018846 — so your test is valid, accepted by SAWS and area water providers, and done right the first time.

What Backflow Is — and Why Testing Is Required

Backflow is when water reverses direction and flows backward into your clean water lines — pulling in whatever’s in your irrigation system: lawn chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, and bacteria from the soil.

It usually happens during a sudden pressure drop — a water-main break, a fire hydrant being flushed, or heavy demand nearby. Your backflow preventer is the one device standing between that contaminated water and the water your family drinks.

That’s why the State of Texas (TCEQ) and the City of San Antonio (SAWS) require your assembly to be tested every year by a licensed tester. AAIS handles the whole thing — test, certification, and filing — so you never have to think about it.
