Sprinkler Repair and Irrigation from Our New Braunfels Office
All American Irrigation Systems is based in New Braunfels. Our office is at 239 Schumanns Beach Rd, so New Braunfels homes and businesses are a short drive for our repair trucks, not an add-on to a San Antonio route. Call our New Braunfels line at (830) 980-8899 for sprinkler repair, new irrigation systems, drip, drainage and backflow testing.
We’ve designed, installed and repaired sprinkler systems in the area since 2003. Our work is done under Texas irrigator license LI 17058, our service technicians are licensed and background-checked, and the owner still reviews every estimate before it goes out.
Why New Braunfels Yards Need a Different Approach
New Braunfels sits right on the Balcones fault line. The Comal Springs in Landa Park rise along it, and the ground changes sharply from one side of town to the other. That affects how a sprinkler system should be designed and what tends to break.
West of town: thin soil over limestone
On the Hill Country side, toward Canyon Lake and out along Hwy 46, there’s often only a few inches of soil over rock. Trenching takes the right equipment, lines sit shallower, and water runs off slopes before it soaks in. We design these yards with shorter, repeated run times and pressure-regulated heads so the water lands where the roots are.
East of town: heavy clay
Toward the Guadalupe and Seguin, the soil turns to dense clay that swells when it’s wet and shrinks and cracks in the summer. That movement is hard on pipes and fittings, and it’s why we see more slow underground leaks and low-pressure zones on that side of town. Clay also drains slowly, so standing water after a storm is common. That’s where our French drains and grading work earn their keep.
New construction
New Braunfels has grown fast, from about 91,600 residents in 2020 to roughly 111,000 by 2023. Many newer homes come with builder-installed systems that use the fewest zones possible. We regularly re-zone and adjust these so the front beds, the lawn and the side yards aren’t all watered the same.
Watering Rules in New Braunfels
Most New Braunfels homes are on New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) water. NBU moved to Conservation Stage 2 on August 10, 2026. Under Stage 2:
- Sprinklers can run once a week, on the day set by the last digit of your street address.
- Watering is allowed only before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m.
- Drip, soaker hoses and hand watering are allowed any day, during those same hours.
- Foundations can be watered for up to two hours with a hand-held hose, or with drip or soaker lines within 24 inches of the foundation.
These are NBU’s rules, not SAWS’, so the San Antonio watering-day finder on our homepage doesn’t apply here. We’ll program your controller to your NBU day and hours, and we can convert beds to drip so they can be watered more than once a week. Stages change with drought conditions, so check nbutexas.com for the current stage. If your bill comes from a different water provider, ask us and we’ll tell you which rules apply.
NBU rebates we can help with
NBU currently offers rebates that line up with irrigation work, including $250 per sprinkler zone removed (up to $2,500), up to $2,000 for grass removal and up to $2,500 for a rain barrel or cistern. If you’re shrinking your lawn or converting zones to drip, we’ll help you plan the work so it qualifies.
What We Fix Most in New Braunfels
- Broken and buried heads: mower and edger damage, and heads that sank in soft clay or never popped up in rocky ground.
- Underground leaks: cracked lines and fittings from clay movement, found without tearing up the whole yard.
- Valves and wiring: zones that won’t turn on or won’t shut off, and wiring chewed or cut during landscaping.
- Controller setup: reprogramming to your NBU watering day, adding rain and freeze sensors, and Wi-Fi smart controllers.
- Drainage: French drains, downspout lines and regrading for clay lots that hold water.
- Backflow testing: certified testing by a licensed backflow tester (BPAT BP0018846).
