Leon Springs started as an 1846 stagecoach stop on what is now I-10, grew around Camp Stanley and Camp Bullis, and has filled in with subdivisions since the 1980s. At about 1,100 feet on the Edwards Plateau, much of Leon Springs has only a few inches of cobbly clay over limestone. That shapes every system we build or repair here:

• Lines run shallow because of the rock, so they crack more easily under traffic or tree roots.
• Water runs off quickly, so we program short, repeated cycles instead of long runs.
• Slopes get their own zones with pressure-regulated heads.
• New sod needs real topsoil. SAWS now requires at least 4 inches under new sod.

Leon Springs is SAWS territory, and part of the area is inside San Antonio city limits. SAWS returned to Stage 3 on September 21, 2026:

Inside San Antonio city limits, new irrigation systems must be designed by a Texas licensed irrigator, with separate zones for turf, beds, slopes and trees, a rain shut-off, and backflow prevention. SAWS requires rain sensors on all in-ground systems, annual backflow testing, and plan review and inspection for new systems, inside or outside city limits. We take care of the design, permits and testing.

• Sprinkler repair for shallow-line breaks, heads, valves and controllers.
• New systems designed for rock and slopes, with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs.
• Drip irrigation for beds and trees.
• Drainage and runoff control.
• Backflow testing by a licensed tester (BPAT BP0018846).
