Garden Ridge is a small city of about 4,200 people that describes itself as “Naturally Home”: big lots, mature trees, wildlife and a rural feel, just 11 miles from our New Braunfels office. All American Irrigation Systems repairs, upgrades and installs sprinkler systems throughout the city. Call (830) 980-8899.

Garden Ridge isn’t on SAWS or New Braunfels Utilities. The city operates its own groundwater system, drawing from the Edwards and Trinity aquifers, and sets its own drought rules under Ordinance No. 61. That’s why Garden Ridge watering hours don’t match the cities around it.

The city has been in Stage 2 since August 5, 2022, and its website still lists Stage 2 in effect as of October 2026. Under Stage 2:

• Sprinkler systems and hose-end sprinklers can run once a week on your designated day.
• Allowed hours are 4–9 a.m. and 8–11 p.m.
• Hand watering, drip and soaker hoses are allowed any day, midnight–10 a.m. and 6 p.m.–midnight.

Those drip hours are much wider than the sprinkler hours, so moving beds, shrubs and foundation plantings to drip is one of the most useful upgrades in Garden Ridge. We’ll set your controller to your designated day and the city’s exact windows. Check the city’s news page for stage changes.

Many Garden Ridge homes sit on generous lots with established trees. That usually means long pipe runs, more zones, and a mix of sun and shade that shouldn’t all be watered the same. We zone lawns, shaded areas and beds separately and route lines around tree roots.

The city keeps a wildlife management plan for a reason. Deer browse beds and step on heads. We use sturdy heads in high-traffic spots and can suggest deer-resistant plantings when you’re reworking beds.

Five hours in the morning and three at night, once a week, isn’t much time on a large lot. Efficient nozzles, matched precipitation rates and a smart controller help a big system finish inside the window.

• Repairs: leaks, broken heads, valves, wiring and controllers.
• New systems designed for large lots, with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs.
• Drip conversions to use the city’s wider drip hours.
• Smart controllers and rain/freeze sensors.
• Drainage and French drains.
• Backflow testing by a licensed tester (BPAT BP0018846).
