Floresville is the Wilson County seat, with a historic courthouse square and River Park, about 35 miles southeast of San Antonio. It’s flatter, sandier country than the Hill Country towns west of San Antonio, and it gets its water from a different aquifer. All American Irrigation Systems repairs and installs sprinkler systems for Floresville homes. Call (210) 826-6474.

The City of Floresville pumps from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, through wells more than 1,000 feet deep, including the Plaza Well that opened in 2023. Because it’s not Edwards water and the city isn’t on SAWS, Edwards Aquifer stages and SAWS rules don’t set Floresville’s schedule. The city’s recent notices haven’t listed watering restrictions, but check with the City of Floresville at (830) 393-3105 before you set a schedule. Rural customers outside town may be on a water supply corporation with its own rules.

Wilson County is upper coastal plain: nearly flat to gently rolling land with deep loamy soils over clay subsoils. Sandy loam takes water in quickly but the clay below holds it, so:

• Run times should be moderate. Too long and water perches on the clay layer.
• Flat lots can hold water after heavy rain, so drainage and downspout work matter.
• Live oaks and pecans need their own zones or drip, not lawn spray.

• Broken and misaligned heads.
• Leaks and cracked lines, often found when a zone loses pressure.
• Valves that won’t open or close.
• Old controllers without rain or freeze sensors.
• Overspray onto driveways and streets.

• Sprinkler repair and tune-ups.
• New systems with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs.
• Drip irrigation.
• Drainage solutions.
• Backflow testing by a licensed tester (BPAT BP0018846).
