Converse has grown from about 18,000 residents in 2010 to more than 27,000 in 2020, with neighborhoods spreading out along FM 1976 and Loop 1604 next to JBSA-Randolph. All American Irrigation Systems repairs, programs and installs sprinkler systems across Converse. Call (210) 826-6474.

Converse runs its own water utility, drawing on Edwards Aquifer wells and Canyon Regional Water Authority. It sets its own drought stages, and its schedule works differently from SAWS’s single weekly day. Under the city’s Stage 2 rules, in effect from June 2026:

• Outdoor watering is allowed Monday, Wednesday and Friday only, 3–8 a.m. and 8–10 p.m.
• Odd-numbered addresses water in the 1st and 3rd full weeks of the month. Even-numbered addresses water in the 2nd and 4th.
• No one waters during a 5th week.
• New landscaping needs written city approval before it can be watered.
• Leaks must be fixed within 24 hours, and runoff is banned year-round.

Most controllers can’t follow an alternating-week calendar on their own, so homeowners often end up watering in the wrong week. A smart controller can be set to match, or we’ll set up a schedule you can switch easily. Stages change with the aquifer, so check the City of Converse for the current stage.

• Systems running in the wrong week or outside the allowed hours.
• Leaks that have to be fixed within 24 hours under city rules.
• Runoff from overspray onto sidewalks and streets.
• Broken heads, valves and wiring, especially in older systems.
• Clay soil issues: northeast Bexar County’s dark clay shifts with moisture, cracking fittings and tilting heads.

Because new landscapes need city approval during Stage 2, timing matters. We can install the irrigation now, with drip for new beds, so it’s ready when planting and watering are approved.

• Sprinkler repair and leak detection.
• Smart controllers programmed for Converse’s calendar.
• New systems with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs.
• Drip irrigation.
• Drainage.
• Backflow testing by a licensed tester (BPAT BP0018846).
