Cibolo has grown from about 3,000 people in 2000 to more than 32,000 in 2020, so most of its homes, and their sprinkler systems, are fairly new. Builder-installed systems often have too few zones and default settings. All American Irrigation Systems repairs and fine-tunes them, and installs new systems across Cibolo. Call (210) 826-6474.

Cibolo has two retail water providers, and neighbors can be on different ones.

• City of Cibolo buys nearly all of its water from Canyon Regional Water Authority (Guadalupe River and Carrizo Aquifer water) and a small share from Schertz, rather than relying on the Edwards. The city’s standing rules, in its Code of Ordinances, are: no sprinklers on Sundays; from April 1 to October 31, no irrigation systems from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and from November 1 to March 31, none from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drought stages can add limits, so check with the city.
• Green Valley SUD serves other parts of town and is in Stage 2: once a week on your assigned day, before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m., no weekends. Backflow assemblies must be tested yearly.

Your water bill shows which provider you have. Tell us, and we’ll program your controller to match.

Many Cibolo systems were installed to pass inspection, not to water well. Common issues we fix:

• Mixed zones: lawn, beds and narrow side yards on the same valve, so something is always over- or under-watered.
• Mismatched heads: sprays and rotors on one zone, which put down water at very different rates.
• Default controller settings that run too long for clay soil.
• No rain or freeze sensor, or one that was never connected.

Cibolo sits on dark Blackland Prairie clay north of Cibolo Creek. Clay absorbs water slowly and shifts with moisture, which cracks fittings and leaves heads tilted. We use cycle-and-soak programming so water soaks in instead of running off, and we install French drains and downspout lines where yards hold water.

• Sprinkler repair and system tune-ups.
• Re-zoning and head upgrades for builder systems.
• New installations with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs.
• Smart controllers and rain/freeze sensors.
• Drainage solutions.
• Backflow testing by a licensed tester (BPAT BP0018846).
