Bulverde calls itself the “Front Porch of the Texas Hill Country,” and its yards show it: limestone, live oaks, and newer subdivisions alongside older rural lots. All American Irrigation Systems repairs and installs sprinkler systems throughout Bulverde from our New Braunfels office. Call (830) 980-8899.

Unlike most cities, Bulverde does not own a water utility. The city has said it can’t set or enforce watering restrictions for customers of the private water companies, so the rules for your yard depend on who supplies your home.

• Texas Water Company serves many Bulverde subdivisions. As of mid-October 2026, Texas Water Company lists Comal County at Stage 3: sprinklers once every other week on your address-based day, 7–10 a.m. or 7–10 p.m., with no new-landscape variances.
• Water Services, Inc. serves other Bulverde customers and sets its own drought stages. Check with them, at (866) 654-7992, for current rules.
• City reuse water. The city’s Singing Hills treatment plant has sold treated reuse water for irrigation, including residential lawns. Reuse lines need the right fittings and backflow protection.
• Private wells. Wells around Bulverde draw from “tight,” low-producing parts of the aquifer, and the city bars new subdivisions from using groundwater wells as their water source. Systems on older wells need zones sized to what the well can deliver.

Tell us which one you’re on, and we’ll program your controller to fit it.

Most of Bulverde sits on shallow, stony clay over limestone, often less than 20 inches to rock, with Cibolo Creek running just south of town. That means rock trenching on installs, quick runoff on slopes, and roots from mature live oaks working into old lines. We design for it: slow-application rotary nozzles on lawns, drip in beds, cycle-and-soak programming, and lines routed around oak root zones.

• Heads broken by mowers or pushed up by rock and roots.
• Lines cracked by tree roots and shifting clay.
• Zones that won’t come on, because of failed valves or cut wiring after landscaping or fence work.
• Controllers set to the wrong day after a provider’s stage change.
• Overspray onto streets and driveways that wastes a limited watering day.

We also install new systems (with a 7-year parts and labor warranty on new installs), add rain/freeze sensors and smart controllers, and handle backflow testing (BPAT BP0018846).
